I have always loved to lose myself in a good murder mystery, specially during winter, I don't know why but there is just something very gratifying about cosying up on a cold night with a cup of tea, those ridiculous slippers that you love and a good a murder mystery. So when I was asked to be apart of Elizabeth Flynn's tour for Dead Gorgeous I jumped at the opportunity.
So D.I Angela Costello is called to investigate the murder of Kirsty Manners, who was found dead in her flat, Kirsty works for fashion house Ivana King and she has more belief in herself than she should, with plenty of suspects, twists and turns, the book is not only consuming it's convincing and that's what makes a book good. The Characters all interacted well together and the banter between the team was entertaining and really made you like the characters. I loved how everyone had their problems, their wasn't just one problem, one issue there was layers and they all had something to deal with. Angela has to deal with the ups and downs of her promotion, the fact that her step daughter is now living with Angela and her husband there is always something happening!
The book is written well, I never lost myself while reading which is easy to do when you're reading elaborate Mysteries, as sometimes there's just too much happening, but Dead Gorgeous never misses the beat, its rhythmic and flows effortlessly.
Dead Gorgeous, a fashionable mystery, a contemporary whodunit, a charming read!
I'm a bookwhore, yes I said it, I have no shame, I will wander off with any old book I'm not even a little bit ashamed. Twenty Seven, Mum, SEND Teaching Assistant, general beauty hoarder and lover of the Irish.
