About The Book
What happens when you uncover years of secrets and find out everything you thought to be true was a lie?
Drew Stevens finds her world turned upside down when her parents are brutally murdered. Soon after, she learns she inherited a property in Bar Harbor, Maine, from recently deceased grandparents that she believed had died when she was a baby.
Drew travels north to settle her grandparents’ estate, but finds more questions than answers as the truth starts unraveling. What she didn’t expect to find was Saint, whose reputation was as tumultuous as his past. But the very thing that brought them together was the same thing that kept them emotionally caged.
With Saint’s scars so deep and Drew’s so fresh, can the pair heal from their painful wounds or will they be pulled beneath the darkness of their pasts?
Well let me say this I absolutely loved Pulled Beneath, So much infact I cried at a very touching moment near the end of the book. A book that makes you feel an emotion so strongly is always worthwhile. So Pulled Beneath is all about Drew, a woman who is left with no family after her mother and father are murdered, but she learns that her grandparents who she believed died when she was a baby, didn't die, they had been alive all this time and only recently died and left Drew her mother's childhood home and a mystery to solve, the mystery of Drew herself & her Maine Family.
Drew sets of on a dark, scary adventure where not only does she find herself smelling and seeing the wonderful things her mother described to her as a child. but she finds Saint, a damaged but oh so swoon worthy man, who is just as messed up as her, but I think all the best characters are always messed up, being flawed and broken is all part of being human, and Marni Mann creates two characters that are broken so beautifully they are believeable, honest and make for perfect reading.
My favourite part of the book was the journey that Drew and Saint took. Learning from each other, growing and navigating through all the lies and secrets. It was so refreshing, and I just wanted to know what damaged Saint so much, what does his giant cage tattoos mean? Will Drew go down the dark path of addiction and drugs to stop the pain or will she find things full of light and love to keep her from being pulled beneath.
Its a love story, its a story of family and it shows us all that when you lose everything and wounds refuse to heal by themselves that there are always new people to lean on, old friends to rely on and family to be found. its all about finding the light in a very dark place.
