About The Book
Sequel to the #1 Amazon Best-Seller, The Debt & the Doormat (available for FREE)
Poppy and Jazz’s lives sound perfect on paper. Jazz has a new baby and Poppy’s getting married. But their realities are very different.
Poppy must strive to keep her cool new job with crazy hours, while trying to keep Ryan happy. Before she knows it her wedding has got out of control, thanks to her mother, the runners at work are bullying her, her parents are in financial difficulty and she’s doubting everything and everyone she ever knew.
Meanwhile Jazz is struggling with motherhood, something a credit card won’t fix. Why won’t this baby give her a break? Will Jazz be able to cope before she loses it?
And will Poppy make it down the aisle? Will Ryan even be waiting?
About The Author, In Her Own Words
My name is Laura Barnard and I am an author from Hertfordshire, UK. I'm the chick-lit author of The Debt & the Doormat, The Baby & the Bride and Tequila & Tea Bags.
In my spare time I enjoy drinking my body weight in tea, indulging in cupcakes the size of my face, drooling over hunks like Jamie Dornan, Ryan Gosling and Leo Dicaprio...oh and my husband of course :-) I like wearing yoga clothes and reading fitness magazines while I sit on the sofa and eat chocolate. I'm a real fan of the power nap and of course, READING!
I write not to get rich or famous, but because I LOVE writing. Even if one person tells me they enjoyed my book it makes the midnight typing worth it
I absolutely love this book, no word of a lie I cried laughing at it, just like I have with Laura Barnard's other books I had tears streaming down my face at the outrageous chaos that engulfs Jazz and Poppy. Jazz is now a mum and she now faces what all us mum's face, sleepless nights, walking around in a half coma state covered in god knows what and feeling like you have lost your identity because all you do is change nappies, change your clothes then run out of clothes because you haven't managed to do any washing because you haven't slept, so you wear mismatched outfits, and then you spot yourself in the mirror and cry. Why you ask? Because you look like crap, yep been there my friends and now that I am out of the woods and my daughter is in school and she sleeps *high five* I can relate to Jazz, being young and now in charge of the safety and health of this tiny human who is so vulnerable can be terrifying. Also there are always super mums that haunt us with their manicures and lean bodies who breastfeed and turn their noses up at those of us who don't. Gah as if motherhood isnt stressful as it is.
Poppy, oh how I love poppy and her crazy ways and even though her and dreamy Ryan have their issues they are the type of fictional characters that makes us smile and forgive them even if they have been a little stupid. I loved how Poppy hadn't really changed yes she developed as character but it wasn't a giant leap and it felt natural to me. I loved finding out more about Ryan's family and how we got new characters but also we had all the old favourites from the housemates to Ollie Poppy's brother who I really liked.
The entire book is fabulous, you can't help but love it, its just so much fun, it brings those real life moments we all go through and makes them things you not only relate to but laugh your ass off too. Its real its honest and it keeps you hooked from the very first page.
From a wedding planning mother, to a first time mother to a doormat in recovery, The Baby & The Bride is ridiculously good! I cannot recommend it enough!
5 Stars For The Baby & The Bride By Laura Barnard
