About The Book
Twin Piques has such a multi-layered plot, the story begins by introducing you to the Tobin twins, Sloane the forensic accountant and the ultimate ice queen, and Willa the sweet loveable pet psychic. The sisters couldn't be any more different, they may be identical twins but oh that's the end of the similarities. Willa is a believer, a woman who knows one day she will find the allusive 'One'. The man who completes her and loves her for exactly who she is. Sloane on the other hand doesn't believe in love. To her its a useless emotion, it only leads to trouble, loss and pain. So Sloane buries herself with work, being a razor sharp business woman she tackles the mighty task of becoming partner in her firm.
Lets talk men shall we, so first up lets discuss Brody, ahhh Brody, the rose expert Willa meets in a green room at a show they were both appearing on. Brody is going through a divorce, he has dreamy eyes and one handsome face, the guy is perfect he cooks and knows his roses, can you imagine Valentines Day with this guy. There's a problem though, he is scared, throwing out all kinds of mixed signals Willa doesn't know where to turn but this Willa, she doesn't give up. Sloane is satisfying her basic urges with her co worker and boss. But there is something Sloane is missing, something she hasn't really noticed all her life, her and Willa's best friend Gav, he is delicious piece of man loveliness, talented, artistic and he gets Sloane, he understands her. But she won't let herself see him.
Can the girls find what they are looking for, can the girls find what they aren't looking for? Will their lives be roses and romance, or strictly business?
This book is brilliant, romantic, and super witty. The writing is quick, there are no surplus chapters, you're satisfied by each page. I loved the concept, even though Willa is a psychic, its believable and her talent to interpret not only her own pet's thoughts but everyone else's is a wonderful addition to the story, I loved hearing what the dogs thought. There little quips and emotions really added to something special to the book.
I can't wait to read more by Tracie Banister, I will definitely be purchasing her books!
