SEBRING By Kristen Ashley Review 26/1/2016 0 Comments About The Book... Nick Sebring has issues. Born feeling like an outsider in his own family, growing up under the shadow of a brother who could do anything, Nick isn’t that great of a guy. But when this culminates with Nick lashing out to hurt his brother through the woman he loves, Nick turns inward and makes some decisions about the man he intends to be. And as he does this, he falls in love and truly learns the man that he’s grown to be. When his love is murdered right before Nick’s eyes, Nick knows he has to avenge her. He knows how he’s going to avenge her. And he has no qualms using Olivia Shade to exact that vengeance. Olivia Shade has grown up on the outside of her family too. Her problem is that they don’t want her outside. They want her all the way in, right under their thumbs. She pays the price for seeking escape and learns her lesson—she’ll never see a dawn where she wakes up free. Then she meets Nick Sebring, and even as she fights it, the hope that died years ago starts to blossom. She can find love. She can have a man of her own. She can be happy. She can be free. Olivia hopes while Nick schemes. However, as Nick peels back the layers of all that is Olivia Shade, he finds something surprising. He understands its fragility. He falls in love with its beauty. He seeks to protect it. But he forgets to protect his Livvie from one thing: Nick Sebring. AMAZON UK AMAZON US About The Author... Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better. Facebook Twitter Website The Review... I started this book at 10.27pm on a work night, knowing full well I had to get up for work and the ever daunting school run, but alas I finally succumb to sleep at around 3.19am knowing this because of my activity tracker which was monitoring my sleeping patten at the time whoops! Anyway as you may of guessed its addictive, dark, gripping and doused in spine tingling chemistry and emotion! The characters where basically your flawed hero and doubtful reluctant heroine but taking that format and giving it what only Kristen Ashley can do and making them stand alone with their unforgettable back-stories, their raw scars and their burning romance they make an undeniable novel! The plot is about how one woman born and raised in a world where violence, deception and torture is the norm, a woman entrapped by the people who should love her the most. it's also about a man who not only made mistakes but learnt from them, who healed but lost the one thing every man treasures the most! But when a man is set out for revenge, and a woman is barely breathing and they collide there will not only be smoke there will be FIRE! This was a gorgeous, end to the Unfinished Hero's series, perfect, utterly delicious and still found a way to hint, to tease about what is to come maybe within the Chaos Series... What will those bikers do next I for one am dying to find out!! God bless queen KA!!! A girl who could hope. A girl who could dream. She knew a happily ever after just wasn't in the cards for her. In love for years with the last bastion of the 'burg's eligible bachelors, Garrett Merrick, Cher worked hard at making him laugh. Being one of the guys. Having him in her life the only way she could. All this knowing he was in love with another woman. The Merrick Family is known for loving deep. So when Cecelia Merrick was murdered, it marked the Merricks in a way none of them recovered. Both Cecelia's children found love. Both turned their backs on it. But Garrett "Merry" Merrick knew in his soul the woman he divorced years ago was the one for him. Until the night when Cher took Garrett's back and things changed. The Merrick family loves deep. They also protect fiercely. And with his eyes finally open, Garrett sees the woman who truly is for him and he goes after her About The Author Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. Facebook Twitter Website The Review I have been a fan of Kristen Ashley for a while now when I say a fan, I mean obsessed person who owns ALL her books! bar one but shush I'm buying Sebring tomorrow, its pay day! YAY!! Anyway Hold On the last in the Burg series! well what can I say to properly explain my love and admiration for this book. well lets start with what the book is about, Cher and Merry, the last single man in the Burg and the tough chick who has been through more lows than highs who has accepted that she isn't the type of girl who can dream! Merry also has felt real pain, losing his mother, and divorcing the woman who was meant to be the one. With any love story you have obstacles but these two have mountains and to reach the other side they are going to have to hold on, and brace! The hits come, but what blossoms doesn't just make up for them, it smashes them to pieces, love, family, friendship rammed with action, baddass men, and smothered with smart wit and beauty. Hold on, is beautiful end to the Burg series, which was full of emotion and depth. Hold on, was delicious in every way and I couldn't of asked for more, the epilogue was oozing with satisfaction and love and I now have one severe book hangover! You can never got wrong with a Kristen Ashley book believe me, flawed, complex characters that become a part of you, that make you fully invested, plots with twists and turns that keep you reading page after page. A unique undeniable voice that flows through every single book entwining everything! Series' that become cherished and loved. Her second novel, HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO, releases Jan 14th in the US & UK with a FREE prequel short available on wattpad. Her debut, LOVE LIKE THE MOVIES is available internationally. Facebook Twitter Website The Review I was totally besotted with this book from the moment I opened it. I previously reviewed Love Like The Movies and I loved Tiem's writing the layers and connections bringing a whole new complexity to the plot. So when Holding Out For A Hero slid through my letter box I was beside myself, a book set to an 80's soundtrack could this get any better? Well yes it does, the book is full of 80's references and the protagonist herself is locked emotionally in 1985! Libby London has built herself a life within a time capsule, locking her heart and mind away from any more hurt. One problem though, she has friends and they have had enough, enough of the leg warmers, enough of the stagnate life she has created, so what do they do well of course they stage and #80sIntervention and this is how the book develops from great to, down right fantastic! Libby has suffered though, she has demons that haunt her day and even more so at night, but no one really knows the truth, no one knows that her first love has a crippling hold on her after all these years, no one knows her body and mind is crippled with guilt and no one knows who Libby London really is, including herself. The book is one of the most uplifting, soul searching and delicately written books I've ever read! depression, guilt and grief mixed with leg warmers, a parrot and one big gesture, set to an 80's soundtrack could you ask for more? I am a huge fan of Victoria Van Tiem and I can't wait to read her next big hit! I am hoping, praying okay BEGGING that we get to travel on with Libby London as she was just such a wonderful character, full of depth contradictions and sarcasm she is my kind of woman! if your looking for a book to really connect to, really feel this winter you've just found it! Dealing with his disaster of an ex-wife is bad enough, not to mention delinquent football players and a meddlesome mother. Cam doesn’t have the luxury of time for anything more, especially a relationship. Even if it is sassy-wiseass Paige Carpino, who can still be sweet, but at every turn knocks him on his ass with the unexpected. That’s figuratively speaking of course. Paige might come in a small package, but she makes up for it in spirit. An energetic spit-fire who has some heat to her sauce, she’s dedicated to her new business ventures, her family and a select group of friends. She’s never put herself out there, but then again, there’s never been anyone worthy of putting herself out there for. Until one day in a burger joint, an asshole practically enters her into a wet t-shirt contest with his drink. Who knew a wet t-shirt could be the beginning of your life. Or more importantly, that asshole would be your reason for being. But anything and all of the above can happen when you finally put yourself out there for a single-dad-ex-football-player-smarty-pants-hot-man. When you throw the Carpino’s, the Montgomery’s and an eighty-five year old bossy woman in the mix, it’s a recipe for…well…something big. Warning: This book contains a hot dad, a sassy heroine, steamy parts and naughty words. If you’re under the age of 18, this author is frowning at you with her mama eyes telling you to walk away. Brynne Asher grew up in the Midwest and now lives in Northern Virginia with her husband, three children and her perfect dog. When she isn’t creating pretend people and relationships in her head, she is running her kids around and doing laundry. She enjoys cooking, decorating, shopping at outlet malls as well as online and is always seeking the best deal. A perfect day in “Brynne World" ends in front of an outdoor fire with family, friends, s’mores and a delicious cocktail. I stumbled upon Brynne Asher while I was searching for book while suffering from a horrific book hangover! Which let me tell you is a bad time usually to try out a new author but let me tell you this, I was amazed from page one when I started Overflow then I read the second novel in the series which is Beautiful Life which I LOVE!!! So then I had to wait for the next instalment, which brings us to Athica Lane The latest release in the Carpino Series! Athica Lane is the story of sweet but sassy Paige Carpino and steaming hot single dad Cam Montgomery! How sometimes Dr Pepper can be the start of something beautiful but also incredibly complicated. Cam is a man that suffered a blow with his ex wife, he doesn't trust easily and with two kids to care for he doesn't do things without caution! I loved this book, it was hot, it had great characters and I seriously enjoyed the way Asher brings in sensitive subjects which tend to not be in romance books. The twist involving mental health really was fantastic reading. The book is hot, its steamy, its heartfelt and it rocked my world! I know I will have every Brynne Asher book on pre-order from now on! If your a fan of Kristen Ashley you will go nuts for Brynne Asher, believe me! Grab your E-Reader ladies we are off to Athica Lane! The Carpino Series... Alec is damaged by his divorce, his outlook on life and love changes and every part of Skylar's beauty threatens him. But when life gives you a knock and a shipwreck hunter helps pick you up, maybe there could be love after all! This book is my favourite so far, it glittered, the words lit up the pages and I could not put it down. I loved the characters, Sky was full of life and conflicting emotions which everyone can relate to. Everyone struggles with things, choices, careers, relationships, Morgan shows this sublimely. I also loved Alec it was nice to have the guy who was damaged by a past love rather than the woman. It was so refreshing to find the woman showing the way, that their is hope and second chances and Christmas ever after!
